Each card in the set features a cards (one per president) with portrait of a U.S. president on one side and facts about that commander in chief on the back, including one challenge faced by each, such as health problems and terrorism. Identifying each president and describing their challenges are part of the game. About Debby Nedelman
MEET DEBBY NEDELMAN – THE PERSON BEHIND PREZFACTS
Debby Nedelman, a special education professional with a particular interest in American history, has been fascinated by U.S. presidents since her early childhood. Her PrezFacts project is a labor of love, the result of a lifetime of research, fact-gathering, and visits to some of the historic sites included on the map. She created PrezFacts to help educate middle schoolers, newcomers to the U.S., and anyone with a passion for American history in a fun way. Here’s what she says about why she created PrezFacts:
“One of my earliest memories is going to Washington, D.C. to see the Lincoln Memorial. Ever since then, I have been excited by our country’s history, especially the presidents. I was surprised to learn that there are no maps to indicate the presidential homes, museums, and libraries, so I created my own.
“Although many Americans are relatively recent U.S. citizens, the history of American presidents becomes a shared history, almost a shared ancestry. My favorite presidential sites are ones where I can understand what made them who they were, warts and all. I enjoy experiencing the culture, furnishings, clothes, books, and hobbies of the presidents and their families.”
